What do you wear to a boudoir photo
When you think of lingerie, what comes to mind? Is it a bra and knickers that you throw on under your clothes whether it matches or not? Do you love a matching set to make you feel confident? Or, maybe you already have a lingerie draw full of beautiful silks, classy lace and sexy leather? However you feel about lingerie now, your Boudoir photoshoot will make you feel empowered, sensational and beautifully sexy. And, I truly believe that is how a woman’s underwear should make her feel.
Naturally, you want to be comfortable for your day in front of the camera, so I am sharing with you the types of lingerie to boost your body confidence and make you feel comfortable and sensational all at the same time. I’ll even give you my top picks of places to shop for beautiful underwear.
Lingerie is more than just a bra and knickers, although this is an essential piece for your boudoir experience. A gorgeous satin or silk robe will add to the mysteriousness of your photos and can be used as a cover up if you feel less confident with certain areas of your body. Corsets and basques are a must – glamorous and sexy – and will give your breasts a fuller look (if this is an area that needs a boost). The romper is the ‘in’ garment for a boudoir shoot right now. They are cute but have a soft classy look, especially in a delicate lace. The timeless teddy is an investment piece, perfect for a shoot like this, to feel sexy in the bedroom or for a stylish finish to your outfit – yes they can be outerwear too! I’m not finished there. To accentuate your curves the lingerie dresses and body stockings are perfect and give a glam photo to add to your collection.
You don’t need to spend a small fortune on lingerie for your photoshoot. I do have robes, drapes and accessories for you to feel fabulous in. But, I do like you to bring at least two lingerie sets with you, so you can start the day feeling like ‘you’.
This however, is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to some new pieces, and we all love a little shopping therapy! Whether you are hitting the high street or shopping online, these are my top picks of shops to head to…
Rigby & Peller
Fancy some royal bosoms? Well it’s good enough for the Queen! Their measuring service is amazing. The lace detailing is beautiful. It’s a slightly higher end of the high street price wise, but you really are paying for royalty! Most of their stores are in London so if you are heading to the big smoke make a booking. They are also online https://www.rigbyandpeller.com/en-gb/
ASOS
A brand we’ve all become accustomed to, but they offer a huge range of lingerie for all budgets from as low as £5 right up to designer items for £150. It’s worth clicking to see if there’s something for you.
Agent Provocateur
A luxury brand with intimate designs. It’s not the most affordable so if your lingerie gives you the empowerment you need as a woman then it could be worth investing it. They cover a good size range from B to E cups.
